What is MONTAQUA?(back to top) MONTAQUA is pure natural spring water that is bottled at the source. What does MONTAQUA mean?(back to top) The name MONTAQUA means "Montana Spring Water." Many people think that it has Native American origins because of the way it sounds. We came up with the name by using “MONT” for Montana and “AQUA” for water and combined them to create a word that reflects the uniqueness of the springs. Where does MONTAQUA come from?(back to top) MONTAQUA rises from its own geothermal pressure to the surface from a deep and protected aquifer. It reaches the surface by following block faulting until it exits through a limestone formation. Where is Montaqua Springs located?(back to top) Montaqua Springs are located in the Southwestern tip of Montana, “The Last Best Place.” South of Dillon 10 miles, the source property has numerous natural springs. Only one spring is used for the bottling of MONTAQUA. Is MONTAQUA’s source protected?(back to top) MONTAQUA’s source is extremely protected. The recharge zone that lies behind the source extends all the way to Yellowstone National Park untouched by man’s influence. A custom-built glass atrium has also been built over the spring to give added protection. Is MONTAQUA bottled at the source?(back to top) MONTAQUA is bottled at the source in a state of the art facility. Great time and thought has gone into the placement of the bottling plant so the natural beauty of the area is not compromised. Is MONTAQUA pumped from a borehole?(back to top) MONTAQUA is not pumped from a borehole. The water rises under its own pressure to the surface just as it has for thousands of years. What is the temperature of MONTAQUA when it reaches the surface?(back to top) The temperature of MONTAQUA when it reaches the surface stays constantly between 69 and 71 degrees. The temperature has been monitored for over 20 years and has never left these parameters. Is MONTAQUA naturally pure?(back to top) MONTAQUA does not have to undergo the many treatment steps that most bottled waters do because MONTAQUA is naturally pure. It is free from the many contaminants that plague other drinking water today. Does MONTAQUA have beneficial minerals?(back to top) There are many beneficial minerals that occur naturally in MONTAQUA. These minerals and the levels in which they are present, make MONTAQUA an extremely unique bottled water. MONTAQUA’s primary minerals are: Calcium - 71.9 mg/L, Magnesium - 23.2 mg/L, Sodium – 19.9 mg/L, Chloride – 10.1 mg/L, Potassium - 5.1 mg/L, Strontium – 1.28 mg/L, Fluoride – 1.04 mg/L. A complete analysis of MONTAQUA can be provided upon request. How much sodium does MONTAQUA have?(back to top) MONTAQUA contains 19.9 mg/L of sodium. This level categorizes MONTAQUA as a product with very low sodium content. How much fluoride is in MONTAQUA?(back to top) MONTAQUA contains 1.04 mg/L of fluoride that has not been added but occurs naturally. What is MONTAQUA’s pH level?(back to top) MONTAQUA is naturally alkaline with a pH of 7.77. The alkalinity in the water, which measures the ability to absorb acids, is 170 mg/L. MONTAQUA is a natural choice to assist you in maintaining your all important pH level. When was Montaqua Springs discovered?(back to top) The first written account of the springs comes from the journal of William Clark, a captain of the famous Lewis & Clark Expedition, on August 15, 1805. It has also been said that the Native Americans had known and used the springs well before this date. Can we visit Montaqua Springs?(back to top) We encourage anyone interested to visit us here at the source. By contacting us we can arrange a tour of the bottling facility and atrium for a single person or a large group. There is limited lodging available at Montaqua Springs through Hidden Valley Guest Ranch. If interested visit that website at http://www.hvgr.com Are the PET bottles you use safe?(back to top) We use the highest-grade PET bottles available. We also use ozonated MONTAQUA to rinse the bottles out just before they are filled to ensure the bottles are free from contaminates. What steps are taken to ensure MONTAQUA’s quality?(back to top) We follow all the guidelines that have been set by the state and FDA to ensure we provide you with a superior product. We have a state of the art facility that safely houses the bottling equipment. We also have built a custom “clean room” over the bottling equipment that regulates the flow of air. These guarantee that you receive MONTAQUA just as pure as it is when it flows naturally to the surface. Where can I get MONTAQUA?(back to top) At this time the distribution of MONTAQUA is limited to stores in Montana. A
list of stores that carry MONTAQUA in your local area can be provided upon request. How much water flows from Montaqua Springs?(back to top) The spring located in the atrium that is used in the bottling of MONTAQUA, flows roughly 700,000 gallons a day. From the source property as a whole, roughly 5.6 million gallons flow daily. |
