The name MONTAQUA means "Montana Spring Water." Many people think that it has Native American origins because of the way it sounds. We came up with the name by using “MONT” for Montana and “AQUA” for water and combined them to create a word that reflects the uniqueness of the springs.

MONTAQUA rises from its own geothermal pressure to the surface from a deep and protected aquifer. It reaches the surface by following block faulting until it exits through a limestone formation.

Montaqua Springs are located in the Southwestern tip of Montana, “The Last Best Place.” South of Dillon 10 miles, the source property has numerous natural springs. Only one spring is used for the bottling of MONTAQUA.

MONTAQUA’s source is extremely protected. The recharge zone that lies behind the source extends all the way to Yellowstone National Park untouched by man’s influence. A custom-built glass atrium has also been built over the spring to give added protection.

MONTAQUA is not pumped from a borehole. The water rises under its own pressure to the surface just as it has for thousands of years.

The temperature of MONTAQUA when it reaches the surface stays constantly between 69 and 71 degrees. The temperature has been monitored for over 20 years and has never left these parameters.

We use the highest-grade PET bottles available. We also use ozonated MONTAQUA to rinse the bottles out just before they are filled to ensure the bottles are free from contaminates.
